Currently, the issue of marine pollution caused by plastic containers such as PET bottles is becoming increasingly serious and is being discussed as a global environmental issue. Amidst such conditions, as a beverage corporation that handles many containers, SBF seeks to reduce waste products to zero. We will continue to further strengthen our efforts for 100% effective utilization of PET bottles. As our medium-term goal, we will aim to use recycled PET materials for more than half of all our PET bottle drink products in our domestic soft drink business by 2025. SBF endorses the Soft Drink Business Plastic Resource Reclamation Declaration made by the Japan Soft Drink Association in the domestic soft drink business.
Efforts for 100% Effective Utilization of PET Bottles
Based on the group policy of 2R+B, SBF is reducing plastic materials and accelerating replacement with materials that can be recycled and reused.
SBF contributes effectively to the global issues of plastic trash by implementing measures in response to regional issues such as improving the recycling rate, building social infrastructure, and raising awareness among consumers.

Initiatives at Group Companies
Our Group company Lucozade Ribena Suntory Limited manufactures and sells soft drink brands such as Lucozade and Ribena in the United Kingdom. The company has always worked to use recycled PET bottles. Now, in order to further improve contributions to a sustainable society, Lucozade Ribena Suntory is participating in The UK Plastic Pact, an initiative featuring cooperation between the national government and industry. By 2025, the company will use 100% recyclable material and will use recycled PET for 50% of its bottles.
Targets have also been set by Orangina Suntory France, which manufactures and sells soft drink brands such as Orangina and Oasis in France. By 2020, the company will use 100% recyclable material. By 2025, it will use recycled PET for 25% of its bottles.
The Group company Frucor Suntory (Australia) Pty Ltd. manufactures and sells soft drink brands such as V and Maximas in Oceania. The company has declared its support for the NZ plastic packaging declaration and is working to enhance its recycling activities. By 2030, the company will use 100% recyclable material and will use recycled PET for 100% of its bottles.
