Natural Water Sanctuary

Under the corporate’s promise to the society, Mizu To Ikiru (living with water) the Suntory Group is collaborating with universities and other expert organizations on the Suntory Natural Water Sanctuary project, forest development activities in 21 locations throughout the country covering a total of 12000 hectares. We also conduct numerous forward-looking corporate activities, such as the Suntory “Mizuiku” Natural Water Education Program, next-generation environmental education that aims to teach the importance of nature to future generations.

CDP Water Security A List Company

SBF has been acknowledged as a CDP Water Security A List 2019 company after being highly regarded by the CDP due to SBF’s initiatives including activities serving to reduce water used at its plants and its Water Resource Cultivation initiatives. Starting in 2010, CDP began collecting and analyzing information concerning water-related risks. This year, investigations were conducted with the approval of 525 institutional investors from around the world managing a total of 96 trillion US dollars in assets, and CDP received reports regarding climate change, water, and forests from more than 8,400 companies. For 4 years in a row, SBF was named one of the 179 A List Companies.

containers and packaging

Using the lightest PET bottle in Japan, weighing

11.3g

The Suntory Group works to develop containers and packaging as part of environmental load reduction initiatives. The 550ml plastic-bottled Suntory Tennensui renewed in May 2013 is packaged in the lightest PET bottle in Japan* (11.3g), which resulted in approximately 40% reduction of using petroleum-derived ingredients per bottle.
